About me

I am a student of civil engineering at the Bauhaus-University Weimar in Germany. Currently I am working on my master thesis involving computer vision and path planning for building survey. I have an assistant position and the Chair of Modelling and Simulation of Structures at my university where I take part in a research project regarding structural health monitoring.

While officially being a student of civil engineering, I took lots of computer sciences courses. Also I did a study project with BIM (Building Information Modelling) as the topic, where we designed and realized an IFC compliant tool to store and process additional data regarding the building, like images or time series data.

Over the last years I did reach a certain skill at programming that exceeds the average civil engineering student, mostly because it is fun to me and I took many courses and jobs where I could program. I generally prefer writing Python code, just because I like working with the language, though I can also use Java, Matlab and C++ to some extend.
